Do you find yourself looking for a digital file only to wonder where you stored it? Do you look back at your old research and wonder what where the final version of your data went? If you want to learn how to organize your research so that you can find and share it later, come to this one-hour workshop on file naming, version control, metadata, and storing your research materials for future use.
Intended Audience: Undergrads, graduate students
Instructor: Rebekah Cummings
Outcomes: Attendees will learn best practices for naming files, achieving version control, and structuring digital folders. Attendees will learn how to share data in a way that makes it understandable to secondary users, locating a data repository, and linking their data to their publications. Attendees will learn how to write a data management plan for grant proposals.
