This class will be led by the Moving Image and Sound Archivist, Molly Creel, and the Audio Visual Archives Assistant, Jessica Breiman.

Meet in the Special Collections Reference Room (Level 4), continue on to “behind the scenes” look at the Audio Visual Archives and our digitization and preservation areas. Class will include a brief history of independent film in Utah including Cine Arts clubs, outdoor recreation films, and documentary and narrative filmmakers (e.g. Trent Harris and Diane Orr). Film clips will be used to illustrate course materials. Participants will learn how to research and use materials in the Utah Independent Film Archives. Participants will also be able to handle materials including film and cameras.
